Avoid Wrongly Operating Mobile Crusher
In mine smelting factory or stone crushing factory,Mobilecrusher should be operated correctly, which is very important in case of accident. Only in this method can ensure the normal production as well as lowering the cost cased by the accident. There is an example as follow:
One smelting factory has one belt conveyor equipped for the feeding system, and the material goes into the next product line after theMobilecrusher’s breaking. At 3:00, staff Jonathan was on duty for this operation. Owning to the crushing raw material was of large size, which cased the difficult entering into the crusher. So machine should be stopped and the large sized stone should be fetched out and with the artificial hammer on the large sized stone into smaller ones. According to the normal feeding operation, five hours was needed to accomplish the work, but this time only 60% of work had accomplished until there was only 2 hours left. At 6:00, one big stone entered into the machine, and operator Jonathan saw that the machine was running without crushing, so he stopped the belt conveyor and went directly to the feeding port of crusher with left foot stamping on the edge of operating floor, right foot stamping the stone heavily in order to let the stone enter into the cavity. Finally, the stone was entered into the cavity with Jonathan’s right foot, which cased the fraction of his foot.
Direct reason
Jonathan’s operation against rules: for a sooner accomplishment of task and anxious for work. According to the operation rules, when the crusher is stopped by the material, stoppage is necessary to handle with the accident. But Jonathan is just another way, which cases this accident.
Indirect reason
1. Relaxed management: For Jonathan doesn’t wear the labor insurance shoe, and the duty monitor doesn’t prevent this situation.
2. Low awareness of safety. If Jonathan realized the self-protection awareness, this accident can be avoided completely.
3. Paying more attention to output instead of safety is one of the reasons.
Responsibility identification
From diagnoses of the scene of accident and the working environment, this safety competent department identifies that this is a man-made accident. Jonathan is responsible for this accident, and the duty monitor is also on some responsibility for his ignoring on management on safety. Results are that Jonathan should introspect for 30 days without working after recovery, which he has been injured without economic punishment and writes letter of guarantee. And the duty monitor is out of his work.
Preventative measures:
1. Safety knowledge should be enhanced to increase the staff’s safety awareness as well as increasing workmen’s safety skill and self-protection ability.
2. More checking should be paid to the production site and no operation against rules and commanding.
