 Plant Description

HAZEMAG & EPR GmbH has erected a new primary crushing plant for the Abyek Cement Company, one of the major cement producers inIran. The concept was successfully achieved by constructing a state of the art plant incorporating 2 apron conveyors and a prescreening unit for the processing of the raw material components marl (60 %) and limestone (40%).

The marl is dumped into the main hopper, from where it is extracted by a rugged, 14-metre long apron conveyor. The limestone is extracted from a smaller hopper by a second apron conveyor at right-angles to the marl conveyor.

Due to the high percentage of fines present in the feed material, a HAZEMAG wobbler feeder is installed upstream of the impactor to eliminate the < 70 mm fraction from the material flow; in this manner, the material flow rate to the crusher is reduced and at the same time the abrasive, wet fines kept away from the crusher. The wobbler feeder surface comprises a series

of rotating shafts spaced at defined intervals and onto which are welded triangular discs; the shaft spacings allow the unwanted fines to pass through the resultant gaps. The wobbler feeder is designed to handle some 2,400 t/h, with a maximum of about 600 t/h fine material being expected to pass through.

Thanks to the high percentage of fines removed from the material flow, the size of the impactor could be reduced and a smaller model selected. Nevertheless, the HAZEMAG Impactor Type AP-PMH 2525 with a capacity of 1,800 t/h is still the largest impact crusher in the Iranian cement industry. In addition to the rugged GSK-type rotor, the impactor is characterised by its HAZtronic hydraulic impact apron adjusting system, which secures the aprons in their pre-set position.

On overloading or on entry of non-crushables, the impact aprons retract in a controlled manner, returning to their original settings as soon as the hazard has passed. The gap settings can be altered at the touch of a button, either at the machine itself or from the control desk. The hydraulic control system provides for ease of operation, an extremely high degree of operational safety and a consistent product quality
