Mobile Crushing Plant Produces High-Quality Hard Rock

Early in 2004, LIMING introduced the prototype of the AP-K 51 hard rock impact crusher. The development work invested in this new design has quickly borne fruit, as shown by the number of crushers of this model already ordered and put into operation. In the short period since its introduction, a great deal of positive feedback has been received and useful information gathered.

A typical example of the excellent performance thereby achieved can be found at Roadstone Provinces in Ireland, where a crawler-mounted HAZEMAG AP-KMH 51 impact crusher is in operation,  generating a  product 85% < 22 mm in a  single pass at a typical  throughput rate of 300 t/h. The crusher is driven by two 200 kW electric motors.

Plant Description

The plant is fed by wheeled loader, the raw material being extracted from the feed hopper by means of a variable-speed vibrating chute. A metal detector mounted over the feed conveyor belt ensures that tramp metal is separated before it can enter the impactor. The crushed material from the impact crusher is transported via discharge chute and belt conveyor to a stockpile.

For ease of operation, all essential commands can be executed via a remote control system. The heart of the mobile crushing plant is the HAZEMAG AP-KMH 51 impactor. This rugged machine is particularly suited to the crushing of abrasive materials, such as gravel, granite, basalt, gneiss, stone and fireclay, and is characterised by the ideal granulometry of its cubical, stress- and fissure-free product, coupled with a high level of efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

When this mobile unit was being designed, particular emphasis was placed on simplicity of operation, accessibility, ease of maintenance and in particular safety. Generously-sized servicing platforms allow for optimum access to the plant, and the provision of a jib-mounted chain hoist as well as special accessories to facilitate spare parts changing lead to a considerable reduction in servicing time and effort. In addition to the customary safety equipment, a trapped key transfer system and automatic fire-protection system are provided to enhance the operational safety of the whole plant still further. Power is supplied by a Caterpillar diesel generator.
