Recycling Crushing Plant Produces Track-laying Material

Customer: HARTUNG-BAU GmbH & Co. KG Fulda-Kämmerzell,Germany

Plant Description

The plant is composed of two units – the feeding & screening unit and the crusher. Each unit is mounted on a crawler chassis and can be moved individually, to which end both units have their own power generators.

The plant has been designed to process old ballast recovered from rail tracks to generate a material just as good as new track-laying material. Such a recycling process demands selective treatment to ensure that the granulation of the end product is only minimally less than that of the feed material. In other words, the primary task is not the comminution of the material but rather the generation of a clean, high-grade product.

Road transport is effected by low-loader. The weights and dimensions of the plant unit allow for flexibility of movement without the requirement for any special transport license. On site, the two units are moved together and connected electrically using standard plug connections.

The recycling plant is fed by wheeled loader. The feed material is conveyed by from the feed hopper by a variable-drive vibro dosing chute to an eccentric screen unit, where the oversize > 63 mm and the fines <12 mm  are separated from the material flow and discharged via a rejects belt. The thus pre-treated fraction 12 – 63 mm is then fed for further processing to the impact crusher, upstream of which a ferrous metal separator is installed. Following the selective

crushing process in the impactor, the product can be conveyed to a mobile screening unit for separation at 25 mm and 12 mm. In this way, a clean, high-grade product 25 – 63 mm suitable for use as ballast is generated, together with fractions 0 – 12 mm and 12 – 25 mm, which can also be re-used depending on the degree of impurity.
